The Things We Cannot Say

This book was heartbreaking, but such a great read- I couldn't put it down. The characters are loveable, and she writes it in such a way that you almost feel what they feel. Normally with dual storylines that jump back in time, I find I have a preference for one storyline over the other, but that wasn't the case with this book. I abolutely loved both timelines equally.

This novel really hit home for me, given the current social/political climate. I feel like in some ways, the world is moving backwards, and when you read about the events of the Holocaust, it's so easy to draw similarities to events that are still happening today. We need to remember these stories, remember these atrocities, and remember how easy it is to sit by and let it happen.
