I have only recently read the book Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin. I have a personal rule: read the book before seeing the movie. I've only broken this rule once and it was with the Twilight series. (Let's be honest, I have no desire to ever read those)
The thing I loved the most about Something Borrowed was the approach Giffin took to the main character of Rachel. This woman was not only sleeping with a man who was engaged, he was her best friend's fiance, and yet you couldn't help but love her. While I don't endorse such behaviour in my everyday life, I found myself cheering for Rachel and hoping that things would work out for her and Dex. I didn't like Darcy, and really only felt bad for her one or two times throughout the story.
I stayed up all night to finish this book. While this is something I've been known to do in the past, I did honestly try to put it down about three times. I would definitely recommend reading this book if you're a fan of chick lit but tire of the same storyline formula. The characters (with the exception of Darcy) are lovable and the idea of not knowing what will happen and when will make it a book that's hard to put down.
I rate this book (out of 5):

They also made this book into a movie. The movie stuck pretty closely to the book and I was really impressed. Check out the trailer
